IT Manager

Reports to: Head of IT
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Location: Bournemouth

As a leader in the Technology squad you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products.

Reporting to our Head of IT - we are looking to appoint an experienced service and process orientated IT Manager who has a broad skill set and an epic attitude.  In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day helpdesk operation, supporting with processes and SLA’s. Your quick thinking, innovative and proactive approach will ensure that issues are resolved seamlessly.

In addition, you will be responsible for supporting our internal policies, procedures and frameworks with the ability to identify innovative opportunities, and be comfortable thinking outside of the box.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the IT helpdesk workload
  • Supporting helpdesk processes and SLA’s
  • Developing and supporting internal policies, procedures and frameworks
  • Managing processes, scheduling and record keeping
  • Assisting in horizon scanning for opportunities and required developments
  • Leading the day to day responsibilities of the team and nurture individuals’ development ensuring they are supported and challenged
  • Overseeing day to day activities of the IT department
  • Project managing initiatives and liaising with key stakeholders

What do we need from you?

  • Past experience leading within a technical department including people management
  • Strong experience within IT infrastructure or a helpdesk environment
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to document processes and frameworks
  • Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
  • A strong proven knowledge of Linux based systems including technologies such as Docker
  • An understanding of advance networking would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with VoIP systems
  • A desire to constantly learn new systems and technology
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and prioritise
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • An appreciation for security and data protection
